How Much Do Golf Simulators Cost from Tell Me More Golf Coaches Helping You with The Cost

In this article, the golf coach team here at Tell Me More Golf looks at golf simulators and how much they cost.

One of golf’s fanciest accessories, the simulator. More and more, people are turning to golf simulators to practice their game, while many players love to play a full round because some simulators can provide access to some of the best golf courses on the planet.

Are golf simulators affordable, though? Can the average golfer get in on the action? Or are they the preserve of the wealthy? Let’s find out.

Home Indoor Golf Simulator Cost

The popularity of home golf simulators is increasing. Such simulators are hugely popular because they provide easy access to golf at home. Players can practice without leaving the house. Golf simulators also provide access to insightful ball data such as ball speed and ball flight, plus other club data related to the golf swing like launch angle, club head speed, club path, and face angle.

The big question is how much do home golf simulators cost? Well, first things first, it depends on the kind of simulator you are interested in; and there are different levels.

As with most things, you have high end, mid-range and entry level.

High End

If you’re planning to go down the high-end route, then you’ll need to have deep pockets, that’s for sure.

Basically, if spending lots of money on a simulator is the way you want to go, then you have a few options but you’ll need to be prepared to spend at least $30,000

These are some typical high-end simulators:

  • The Full Swing Pro – starts at $30,000
  • TrackMan – starts at $49,995
  • The Golfzon Vision – starts at $40,000
  • TruGolf Vista 12 – starts at $20,000

Any of the high-end simulators above provide an excellent golfing experience, but they’re simply not available to everyone because they’re so expensive.

Mid-Range

Fortunately, there are some mid-range simulators that are perfect for those golfers looking for a home simulator without

As it is hugely accurate, the Foresight GCQuad could very easily slot into the high-end category on performance, but thankfully for those on a slightly stricter budget, it’s in the mid-range category on price

With something like the Foresight GCQuad, you’re getting an excellent golf simulator, one that ticks all the boxes, and the best part is it’s not too pricey.

The mid-range options are perfect for the practicing golfer who wants to gain useful insights into their game without going crazy with their wallet.

Entry-Level

  • SkyTrak Golf Simulatorstarts at $4000
  • Mevo+ Practice – starts at $4000
  • OptiShot 2 Golf-In-A-Box 2 – starts at $1,500
  • Garmin Approach R10 Training Golf Simulator – starts at $2,500

It is also with adding that a home golf simulator can be bought for even less than the entry level models above. For example, the OptiShot 2 Golf-In-A-Box golf simulator, which is hugely popular among golfers on strict budgets, starts at just $500.

Ultimately, there are some great entry-level simulators that can be put together on a relatively low budget. These are ideal for the novice golfer who wants to kick start their journey with insightful practice data.

Commercial Golf Simulator Cost: Factors

There are costs attached to providing a commercial golf simulator. First and foremost, before you think about providing golf simulators on a commercial basis, you need somewhere to put them.

You’ll need to either own or hire a space where you can put your golf simulator systems.

You’ll then obviously need to provide the simulators, which means you’ll need to make sure that your site has enough room for several hitting areas, each with enough room, each containing all of the simulator equipment.

Other cost factors include water and electricity bills, staff, hitting mats, simulator software, simulator screens, high-speed cameras and of course golf balls.

Golf Simulator Cost Per Hour

If you don’t have the money, space or time to put together your own golf simulator at home, then fear not, as there are numerous golf centers across the US where you can pay to hit some balls on a sim.

Visit most golf clubs or driving ranges that offer the use of a golf simulator and you’ll be looking at paying between $30 and $50 for an hour.

The great thing about going and hiring out a golf simulator for an hour or two is that you can with a few buddies, thus spreading the cost.

I myself have used golf simulators with a playing partner.

It’s a great way to help each other practice and it makes the experience cheaper too.

If you hit the simulator as a group of four, you could be looking at paying as little as $10 per person (per hour), though you should be prepared for that cost to rise to $15 at some venues.
