Does Brooks Make Golf Shoes? — Golf Coach’s Advice

Does Brooks Make Golf Shoes Answered by Professional Golf Coach Experts from Tell Me More Golf

As a golf instructor and swing coach, I have had dozens of golfers ask me if Brooks running shoes are suitable for the golf course.

Brooks is a highly respected shoe manufacturer that has been in business since the year 1914, and today they are well known for making very high performance running shoes. While the Brooks company has a storied history of making everything from ballet shoes to baseball cleats, there are currently no golf shoe offerings in their lineup at this time.

Brooks Golf Shoes

As of the writing of this article, Brooks does not have any golf shoes on the market, or any other shoes that resemble a spiked or spikeless golf shoe. The company has not announced any future plans to release golf shoes, and there are currently no Brooks shoes that are suitable to golf in.

Brooks is one of the most trusted names in the world of running, and they showcase a very versatile lineup of different shoe designs.

There are plenty of different models to choose from, and many golfers have wondered if the iconic Brooks company will produce a golf shoe.

There is a deep list of reasons why so many people have converted to wearing solely Brooks footwear on a daily basis. These versatile high performance shoes offer outstanding cushioning that provides energy return with each step, as well as breathable

While there are no current shoes from the Brooks company that provide enough grip to be considered golf shoes, there are some shoes in the lineup that are suitable for basic golf practice activities like light chipping and putting.

Best Brooks Shoes for Chipping and Putting

The fact that Brooks footwear is designed for high performance situations makes them very comfortable and supportive for light golf practice. Additionally, the lack of spikes will help maintain the surface of the putting green longer as you walk back and forth between putts.

The entire line of walking shoes from Brooks make great options when it comes to basic golf drills and putting practice, and the Ghost 15 is the most popular mens model. The Ghost 15 is available in 16 different color variations, and provides ample ankle support and comfort for golf practice.

All of the Brooks women’s walking shoes are also suitable for light golf practice and drills, with the Glycerin GTS 20 being the ideal choice.

The combination of high performance materials and stylish design have made this one of the most popular women’s shoes in the Brooks lineup, and the golf world has started to take notice.

Brooks Shoes for Golf Course Employees

While you won’t see Brooks running or walking shoes on the feet of professional golf superstars like Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, or Dustin Johnson any time soon, there are more and more golf course and tournament employees who have been making the switch to a pair of Brooks recently.

Golf club employees from cart staff to head pros require a high performance, water resistant pair of shoes on a daily basis to get the job done. These positions require many hours of standing and walking outdoors, and lower quality shoes rarely stand up to one season of wear and tear for golf course staff.

While nothing that the Brooks company currently produces are considered to be “golf products,” the brand is becoming increasingly prevalent at golf courses worldwide. Even caddies who usually sport a pair of golf shoes are making the switch to Brooks athletic shoes.
